For bag or pouch crafters, one of the very first projects we tend to embark on is the humble tissue pouch ティッシュ. We'll like to bring you not one, but three types of Japanese tissue pouches--the simple, the flap and the zipper style. In this project, we will work with cotton fabrics and the lace and iron-on patch details are optional. 

LEVEL: Intermediate (You must be able to operate a sewing machine independently)

DURATION: 3 - 3.5 Hours

  • How to iron and pin your fabrics
  • Getting an accurate seam allowance
  • Shortening your nylon zipper to desired length
  • How to use your zipper footer to sew a zipper opening
  • How to manage and reduce bulk during sewing 
  • How to add lace trimmings to your project (If you opt for it)
  • Placement for your embroidery/iron-on patches (If you opt for it)
  • How to iron on embroidery patches (If you opt for it)
  • Attaching your lining to your exterior via hand stitching 
  • Pattern for a zipper tissue pouch
  • A lot of hand sewing is required
  • All machine, tools and materials are provided
  • Sewing notes and dimensions will be given after the class
