Experience the amazing process of crafting your very own small, Japanese parasol! A parasol is a light umbrella traditionally made of more delicate, handmade materials like cotton, plastic and lace to give shade from the sun. In this workshop, you'll be using quality umbrella parts imported from Japan which are easy to assemble. Choose from a variety of lightly water-resistant fabrics such as nylon taffeta and laminated Oxford. Do note that these materials can only provide shelter from short sessions of light drizzles, but not from a heavy downpour. We now also offer Liberty Poplins for this project. Do note that Liberty Poplin is 100% cotton, does not offer any water resistance and the day umbrella made with it will only offer shade from the sun. All instructions, pre-cut materials and paper pattern will be provided. You can even purchase additional umbrella parts to re-make the project at home.

- Recommended material: Makes a lighter umbrella due to the lightweight fabric, harder to work with due to the slippery nature
- Character Prints: Original Sanrio Hello Kitty or Sumikko Gurashi
- Sanrio Laminated Oxford Cotton:
- Makes a heavier and thicker umbrella due to the heavier fabric weight. Easier to work with due to its heavier, stable nature; though thicker to hand stitch.
- Character Prints: Original Sanrio prints like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Star etc.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
